Place and Space

“The interplay of ‘place’ and ‘sapce’ is the key to understanding the idea of landscape (Olwig, 2001). ‘Place’ is idiosyncratic and subjective and takes into account the experiential meaning of ‘lived-in’ landscapes, while ‘space’ represents the analytic view of a positivistic geography and tends to objectify and impersonalize landscape.” – Jala M. Makhzoumi.
